Nanoshells are important for cancer and spectroscopic applications. The method of synthesis of nanoshells is quite simple and includes one-step and two-step approaches. There are two types of nanoshells: oxide nanoshells (e.g., hollow silica nanoshells) and metal nanoshells (e.g., gold and silver nanoshells).
