The third role defined by the Scrum Framework is perhaps the most misunderstood one of all. The Scrum Master role is neither a “business” role nor a “technical” role. The day-to-day work of a Scrum Master is hard to describe in terms of specific tasks to be done. When asked what a Scrum Master does on a day-to-day basis, the proper answer is: It depends. At best, the detailed work of a Scrum Master is vaguely defined and hard to pin down.
