Chapter 12 I Got Fired and I’m the Founder—How?
This is what happened as I remember it.
“Listen, if you don’t agree to hire Mr. Howse as the new CEO, the other board members are going to overrule you, vote you out, and may even take their investments back out of Bigfoot’s bank account,” Brian said, as we stood in my small office during a break in the monthly board meeting at Bigfoot Networks. Brian was our first investor in Bigfoot Networks, and he had $4 million dollars invested in us. He had a board seat, but his was not the biggest at the table. Our other investor, Northbridge Ventures, had two seats. They had invested $8 million, and were planning to invest another $8 million very soon.
