Conducting a Post-Project Review
A post-project review is the review of a completed project by a selected group of project members who represent all the major organizations that participated in the project. The group identifies those things that went right, areas for improvement, and, optionally, recommendations for improvement. The objective is to learn from project experiences so that future projects can benefit.
In Chapter 19, Create the Desired Culture for Your Project, we discussed an effective method of applying lessons learned from past projects. In this chapter we focus on a simple, straightforward approach to conducting post-project reviews that will identify those lessons.
