Creating an Android application

In this recipe, we'll see how we can use the NBAndroid plugin to create a basic Android application.

Getting ready

To complete this recipe, you'll need to use any version of NetBeans 8. You'll need to have downloaded and configured the Android SDK on your machine. Finally, you'll need to have installed the NBAndroid plugin as described in the previous recipe.

How to do it…

To create an Android application, perform the following steps:

  1. Click on File and then on New Project... from the main NetBeans menu.
  2. Select Android from the list of Categories and Android Project from the list of Projects.
  3. Click on Next.
  4. On the New Android Application dialog, enter the Project Name field as HelloAndroid, and the Package Name field as ...
