In the IP layer, the IP routers are enhanced to support the OpenFlow
protocol and are referred to as OF-Rs. A translucent WSON, with
sparsely but strategically equipped 3R regenerators, is deployed in the
optical layer. Such a translucent network is a promising paradigm for
industrial deployment because extensive studies indicate that it can
provide an adequate trade-off between network cost and service pro-
