17 Windows

In the years since its initial release in 1985, Microsoft’s Windows operating system has become the most prevalent operating system on the market. Window’s familiar interface and ease of use enabled relatively unsophisticated users to install and maintain local area networks (LANs), making LAN technology a ubiquitous part of doing business.
