Additional operating systems have been created as computing has evolved. Today, many users are turning to the cloud for networking (and other services). As technology advances, new methods and approaches will develop.

Historical Systems

In 1977, a Unix-based operating system was developed by the University of California, Berkeley. This system was originally an extension of AT&T Research’s Unix operating system.
