When I speak about Twitter at conferences and seminars, I always ask the room how many people have an account. I follow this up by asking how many people tweet every day. The difference is usually about half. Twitter is mentioned daily, whether via a sporting event, a popular television show, a commercial, the news, or the Web. Ninety percent of Americans are aware of Twitter.1
We’re asked to follow Twitter accounts constantly, but seldom are we told why we should be following. What’s in it for me? So many people still don’t fully understand how or why they should be using Twitter. But when Twitter is used well, it can be a powerful place to grow your network.
