On the Employee’s First Day

In most companies, the employee will report first to the human resources department to receive benefits information, sign the necessary employment processing forms, and be given an employee handbook or equivalent outlining the company’s policies and procedures.

Approximately midmorning, the employee will leave the human resources department to report to his or her work site. The supervisor should greet the new employee personally and set aside adequate time to introduce him or her to the work environment.
