The supervisor must devote a significant amount of time to the employee that first day on the job. Although some of the items on this checklist may seem trivial, they are important in making the new employee feel welcome. The supervisor should take personal responsibility for making sure the new employee has all the materials he or she needs to feel a part of the team.
