Tool 11-7: Information to Communicate During the New Employee’s First Day

To begin acclimating the new employee to the actual work environment, the supervisor should conduct a tour of the work site, pointing out specific equipment and significant locations of key resources. In addition, the supervisor should instruct the new employee on how to use pieces of equipment and how to follow key procedures. This checklist identifies the critical information the new employee needs to receive on his or her first day on the job.
