e chroma interpolation in HEVC is also more complex. A four-tap FIR filter is
used to calculate the fractional sample values instead of the bilinear interpolation
used in H.264/AVC. As in H.264/AVC, given 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, quarter-
sample accurate luma MVs correspond to an eight-sample chroma accuracy. Figure
10.8b illustrates these fractional positions between integer chroma samples, denoted
by two lowercase letters, where the first letter represents the rows a–h and the second
letter represents the column
