Wandering around outdoors affords you the simple opportunity to make some truly inspirational photography. The natural world is filled with many diverse subjects to photograph. Plants, flowers, rock formations, and coastlines are just a few of the many types of subjects you can discover. The great thing about landscape and nature photography is that you don’t need a lot of specialized gear to do it. Your D800 and almost any type of lens will suffice, and you can use the sun to light your subject.
Photographing Landscapes
Simply put, landscape photography is recording a scene exactly as it exists in nature. For the most part, people and animals aren’t included in the scene and the focus is placed upon the formations of the land.
Landscape photography can encompass almost any type of natural environments, from coastlines and the sea to desert scenes, mountains, forests, and lakes. Although exotic scenes make for interesting images, you don’t necessarily have to travel far and wide to capture a great landscape scene — you can take a quick trip to the local park and find a suitable subject.
