The process of associating an external trigger with an internal response, e.g. a resourceful state.

‘As-if’ frame

Pretending that some event has happened or situation holds, for example, acting ‘as if’ I am a presenter, or ‘as if’ we have already overcome the issue.


In tune with feelings of an event, along with the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of an event. The event could be in the here and now, recalled, or constructed.
