Chapter 4 presented procedures for analyzing independence of two samples.
Often in research projects, we wish to compare observations on multiple
(k) samples. The nonparametric tests for multiple independent samples
presented in this chapter are equivalent to their parametric counterpart,
analysis of variance (ANOVA). Recall that an ANOVA research design is
used to ascertain differences among two or more groups when the data are
interval, ratio, or ranked.
