CONTROL SYSTEMS (STEAM AND MOTOR)
transmitter (dp cell) is placed in the discharge from the extraction pumps. When
the steam flow drops and the condensate level in the condenser well falls, the
pumps tend to lose suction and the flow transmitter (at a pre-set flow rate) sends
a signal to the controller which opens the recirculating valve to the condenser
locating the flow through the ejector condenser. The valve may be remotely
operated from the control room. It is set to fail safe open (Fig. 111(a)).
