APPENDIX B Using the ZENworks MIB Browser

ZENworks provides a useful tool to help you navigate and manage the SNMP-manageable nodes in the management database. This appendix discusses MIBs: how to start the MIB browser and how to use it to view the management database.

Understanding MIBs

An MIB is a text file that contains specifically formatted data that describes the management information on a particular class of an SNMP-manageable device. Each SNMP-manageable device has a specific standard to which it adheres. The MIB file is simply a definition of that standard.
