INTRODUCTION
Statistics is used by people to take decision about the problems on the basis of different types of information available to them. The word ‘statistics’ means something different. Its prime function is to draw statistical inference about population on the basis of available quantitative and qualitative information. The word statistics can be defined in two different ways– in singular sense, ‘statistics’ refers to what is called statistical methods and in plural sense, ‘statistics’ refers to data.
