Manabendra Nath Roy (1887–1954)
INTRODUCTION
Manabendra Nath Roy, originally known as Narendranath Bhattacharya, was born in Arbelia, West Bengal. He was an Indian revolutionary, radical activist, and political theorist of the twentieth-century. He was also a founder of the Mexican Communist Party and the Communist Party of India (Tashkent group). As a delegate to congresses to the Communist International and Russia’s aide to China he pondered Vladimir Lenin on national liberation and operated in the upper levels of international communism.
