Approaches to Comparative Politics
INTRODUCTION
Comparative politics emerged as a distinct field of political science in the US in the late nineteenth-century. The evolution of comparative politics is seen as guided by two revolutions: the behavioral revolution and post scientific revolution during the cold war. According to G. K. Roberts, the historical development of it may be roughly put into three phases—unsophisticated (traditional), sophisticated, and increasingly sophisticated (modern).
