Union Executive

INTRODUCTION

Articles 52 to 78 in Part V of the Indian Constitution deals with the Union Executive. The Union Executive consists of the President, the Vice-President, the Council of Ministers with the Prime Minister as the head to aid and advise the President, and the Attorney General of India.

PRESIDENT

The President of India is the head of state of the Republic of India. Article 52 of the Indian Constitution says that ‘There shall be a President of India’. The President is the formal head of the executive, legislature, and judiciary of India and is also the commander-in-chief of the Indian Armed Forces. He is the first citizen of India and acts as a symbol of unity, integrity, and solidarity in the nation.
