Simulators encompass a broad range of devices, such as partial task trainers,
such as an IV insertion arm; screen-based simulations, including simulated EHRs;
simulated environments replicating a realistic patient care area; and complex com-
puter drive human patient simulation manikins. Although each of these simula-
tion modalities can be used alone, they can be powerful learning tools when used
