Trucker’s Hitch

Applications

The trucker’s hitch (see figure 41-1) is a valuable knot for tying down a load in a truck, car, or van. Once you’ve learned the trucker’s hitch, you’ll wonder how you ever got along without it. It lets you tie down a load and pull out the slack from the holding loop, creating a very secure fastening. The trucker’s hitch is particularly useful in a grip or prop truck where the horizontal wood slats that run the length of the inside body can be used as anchoring posts and the desired load can be bound secured in place.
