Understanding Projects

A project, in the simplest sense, identifies and relates a collection of processes. Starting with Solaris 8, every single process has a project identifier, called projid, as part of its metadata. You can observe this value by specifying it when you want to examine one or more processes. You can also retrieve the project name with the same utility:
