MAC Data Services

In this section, MAC data services, which are responsible for carrying out data frame exchanges between WLAN stations, will be presented. First, the MAC data communication protocol will be described, for both non real-time and real-time data traffic. A special type of protocol using RTS and CTS control frames (typically used to reduce collision probability) will then be presented.
