Applying Styles to a Document

The easiest way to get started with styles is to apply styles by using the Quick Styles gallery on the Home tab of the Ribbon as shown in Figure 8–2. Click in a paragraph to apply the style only to that paragraph, or click and drag through several paragraphs to apply the style to them all. Then choose the style from the Quick Styles gallery.

NOTE: If the style you need appears in the Quick Styles box, you can simply click it there instead of opening the Quick Styles gallery. You can also click the up button or the down button to display other styles in the Quick Styles box without opening the Quick Styles gallery.
