The Office programs share a feature called AutoCorrect, which helps you to enter text faster and more accurately in your files. You'll probably want to create your own entries for AutoCorrect's Replace text as you type feature, and you'll do well to choose settings for AutoCorrect's other options, as the default settings can cause surprises.
As you work in an Office program, AutoCorrect monitors the characters you type. When you type one of the entries in AutoCorrect's list of replacements, followed by a space or a punctuation character, AutoCorrect automatically replaces what you typed with its designated replacement text.
For example, if you type abbout, AutoCorrect ...
