4.3.2.2. Radiation Theory Wave Impact on a Large-Scale Floating Upright Cylindrical Group
Large-scale offshore floating structures are in a wave field. The interaction between waves and structures is decomposed into diffraction problems and radiation problems. The diffraction problems have been introduced earlier; we will introduce the radiation problems briefly now.
1. The definition of radiation problems
When the structure has a slight oscillation motion in a certain mode, it produces an outward radiation wave field in a stable flow field, and the structure is impacted by the radiation wave; this is a radiation problem.
