5.2. Seawalls and Artificial Islands
The construction of seawalls in beach/shallow sea areas is commonly used in the exploration and development of oil and gas at home and abroad. Along with the deepening of exploration and development of oil and gas resources, the method of construction of an artificial island in beach/shallow sea areas has developed. With regard to the exploration and development of sea oil and gas in beach/shallow sea areas in China, the construction of seawalls began in 1965. In Dagang oil field, the first artificial island was built.
