LIVING AND WORKING IN THE COUNTRYSIDE, my paintings are inevitably influenced by the changing seasons. This painting was created in October when the days were still sunny, but the cooler temperatures and dwindling light had changed the colors of the trees and hedges. I’m a musician as well as an artist, and years of driving home late at night from engagements have resulted in many encounters with deer. In this painting, I have tried to suggest the magic of a moonlight meeting with one of these lovely creatures.
