The song “Where or When,” performed by “Ol’ Blue Eyes” Frank Sinatra as well as many contemporary artists, came to mind as I wrote this chapter. “Where or When” was written for a 1937 Broadway production called Babes in Arms, and in honor of that, I’m going to write this entire chapter in the form of show tunes, so get those jazz hands limbered up. No, sorry to disappoint you — I don’t offer any soaring lyrics or unforgettable rhymes in the chapter. I do, however, sing the praises of knowing where to create OKRs and how often to update them, which are critical decisions for a successful OKRs implementation.
In this chapter, I share the most common choices for where to create OKRs, including at the company level only, or for the company and business unit, or for the entire organization.
