THIS IS THE BUSIEST TRAVEL TIME of the year. If you have to drive a long distance, be sure the car gets serviced a week or two before Turkey Day. At the very least, check the oil and water levels and fill up the gas tank a few days before the holiday. Are you a member of the Auto Club or some other organization that provides roadside assistance? Have your membership card with you and a fully-charged cell phone. If you have children in the car, provide them with snacks and entertainment. The happier they are, the less likely you are to be serenaded with a chorus of “Are we there yet?”
