Checklist to Choosing an ISP

There are many ISPs in the marketplace. AOL isn't the only choice. In fact, the big boys are far from the only choices. There are thousands of good, stable, inexpensive ISPs on the market. It pays to shop around.

The choice of an ISP has many factors to consider. These factors include: email considerations; a local access number (or POP); connect time; bandwidth; DNS servers; Web space; FTP space; Usenet; available technical support; billing; software installation; and the TOS (terms of service) requirements.
