Yahoo!
Probably the most important service on the Web has traditionally been Yahoo! Located simply at www.Yahoo.com, Yahoo! uses Google as its underlying search engine but in itself, Yahoo! has been more of a directory than a search engine. With a directory, you are looking at what can be best described as moderated links. In other words, when you are looking for a site for collecting Corvettes, Yahoo! may have a series of important listings that have often been examined, sorted, verified, and approved for listing. In the first years of the Web boom this was easier to accomplish than it is today, and Yahoo! has to use Google as a backup. ...
