Thesauri in (cladist) systematics

The idea of applying (cladist) systematics to thesaurus construction theory first arose as a way of comparing both classification systems. The aim was to strengthen the scientific nature of thesaurus construction theory, thus positioning it within the accepted canon of knowledge in this area (Currás, 1994).

At the same time, a complementary intention was to apply systematics to branches of knowledge other than logic, mathematics and biology, thus broadening its scope and evolutionary development.
