Chapter 10. Fragment Shaders

In Chapter 9, “Texturing,” we introduced you to the basics of creating and applying textures in the fragment shader. In this chapter, we provide more details on the fragment shader and describe some of its uses. In particular, we focus on how to implement fixed function techniques using the fragment shader. The topics we cover in this chapter include:

  • Fixed function fragment shaders.
