NNM and Routers

A common problem is NNM combining two routers into a single node. This is usually caused by bad DNS data.

HSRP can be tricky, too, unless the correct flags are set in oid_to_type. Currently (June 2000), Cisco does not set the flags correctly when they install their element managers. A router running HSRP should be set to “GD”. Otherwise, netmon will continually add and delete the HSRP address.
