A Community College

This community college has several campuses. To manage its network you purchased NNM to run on an existing UNIX workstation. Since the college used all HP equipment, NNM was able to autolayout each subnet with perfect accuracy by taking advantage of the HP enterprise-specific MIB. This was before the days of the industry standard repeater and bridge MIBs.

In addition to monitoring the network infrastructure, the NNM system also managed HP3000 and HP9000 server systems on all the campuses. Performance polling of the network equipment that provides Internet access was set up to detect when a line speed upgrade was needed.
