AARP

AppleTalk address resolution protocol. When a Macintosh doesn’t know what network numbers are valid at start-up time, it broadcasts an AARP probe packet to find a valid node address in the start-up network number range.

ABR

Available bit rate. In ATM LANs, this is the lowest quality of service that a device may request. No bandwidth guarantee is made by the ATM switch, and the device may suffer cell loss when the ATM LAN has to guarantee delivery for higher QOS devices.
