8 Operational Energy Challenges of the Armed Service Branches
The individual armed services that fall under the DOD share many common OE challenges. Due to the specialized role that each of the services perform within the larger Joint Force, each of these branches also faces unique quandaries. This chapter examines common predicaments that all the services face today, regardless of their role within the DOD or which operational domain that they tend to operate in. Next, the chapter analyzes service-specific problems. These are OE issues that are unique to the individual military branches, largely due to their operating concepts, or how they see their service contributing to the Joint Force.
