Ten years have passed since our first-of-its-kind book on optical code-division multiple access (CDMA), Prime Codes with Applications to CDMA Optical and Wireless Networks, published by Artech House in 2002. The book covered optical coding theory, performance analytical techniques, and proof-of-principle experiments for the specialized field of optical CDMA, from the mid-1980s to early 2002. It not only provided the first comprehensive text, but also facilitated research and education in this emerging field. Since the early 1990s, numerous developments in optical CDMA have been contributed by worldwide researchers.
