Abstract
Every manufacturing process should be operated with optimum machining conditions to achieve the goal of less machining time, less cost, as well as better quality of the product. The main objective of this research work is to find out the optimum cutting condition for turning operation. In this study, rake angle, entering angle and cutting speed have been considered as cutting parameters during turning operation. At the same time, different cutting forces, such as main cutting force, feed force have, been taken as machining variables. Different combination of cutting parameters selected as input and all the machining variables have been observed as output. The effects of cutting parameters on the cutting forces have been recognized as regression equation with help of Minitab software. For the optimization purpose, single objective optimization and multiobjective optimization techniques have been adopted in this chapter works. Genetic algorithm has been used as an evolutionary computation technique for the optimization purpose. The best fitness values and the curves of corresponding output have been presented in this work. The pareto optimal solution has been tabulated, and the pareto front has been represented as graphical form for the multiobjective optimization solution ...
