Best practices regarding copyrights and digital content

Abstract:

In 2012 the Association of Research Libraries published a code of best practices concerning fair use. This was done by the professional association to safeguard and limit liability to copyright lawsuits on the part of rights holders. The code is investigated in detail and examples of situations are provided. The legal precedents concerning digital content and fair use are discussed.
