The ICA protocol

The Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) is a proprietary protocol for a desktop or application server designed by Citrix Systems. The ICA protocol has built-in features such as compression, quality of service (QoS), session sharing, keep-alives, and virtual channels. Virtual channels allow you to assign application-specific tasks to different traffic priority queues. For example, video, mouse and keyboard screen updates use the high priority queue, whereas client drive mapping takes a low priority queue.
