Chapter 2. Creating a Data Model for a Report

The Data Model is a new concept introduced in BIP 11g. Using the Data Model Editor, you can choose multiple data sources for your reports. You can also create and refine elaborate structures of data to extract XML report data from, and attach report-connected entities as event triggers or parameters.

In this chapter, we will see the components of a Data Model. We will see in detail how each component is addressed by the BIP Data Model Editor with the help of a few examples, which will give us a better understanding of the way the Data Model builder works.
