RMAN Basics
Oracle's Recovery Manager, also known as RMAN, should be your tool of choice when it comes to backing up Oracle databases. RMAN was first introduced in Oracle 8.0 and has come a long way since then. This chapter shows how RMAN has been improved specifically in Oracle Database 10g. It also offers some practical tips that you can use in configuring and using RMAN for both backup as well as recovery.
