Displaying data in lists of values is fundamental to all user-facing applications; even character mode applications from yesteryear contained functionality to display lists of values with actual text instead of obscure IDs. Thankfully, we’ve come a long way in improving the user interface to help users navigate the “ID is king” world of database applications.
