Chapter 8. Installing and Configuring OAM Agents

Agents in OAM 11g are policy enforcement points (PEP) registered with OAM server that act as a filter for HTTP Requests. Each agent plays the role of a gatekeeper to secure the resource and manages all interactions with the user who is trying to access the resource. Agents receive request from users and contact the OAM server to find whatever authentication and authorization has been configured for the resource which the user is requesting. Each OAM server has two ports: a managed server port (default value 14100) which is the WebLogic server port on which the OAM server runs; and the OAM proxy server port (default value 5575) which listens for agent requests.
