Fine-grained auditing was introduced with Oracle9i. Like fine-grained access control, fine-grained auditing is implemented by defining a predicate to limit the SQL statements that will be audited. By using these audit policies, you can focus auditing activity on a small set of vital data. Reducing the overall number of audit records makes it much easier to spot potential security violations.
